Servings
Makes 2 - 4 servings
Ingredients
2 (10- to 12-ounce) thick cut pork chops
4½ tablespoons Salt-Free Sugar-Free Magic Creole Seasoning®, in all
1 tablespoon canola or olive oil
½ cup chopped onions
½ cup chopped green bell peppers
6 smashed garlic cloves
¾ cup canned diced tomatoes (No Salt Added)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
1½ cup unsalted chicken stock
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce (No Salt Added)
4½ tablespoons Salt-Free Sugar-Free Magic Creole Seasoning®, in all
1 tablespoon canola or olive oil
½ cup chopped onions
½ cup chopped green bell peppers
6 smashed garlic cloves
¾ cup canned diced tomatoes (No Salt Added)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
1½ cup unsalted chicken stock
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce (No Salt Added)
How To Prepare
Season the pork chops with 4 teaspoons of Magic Creole Seasoning® and let rest. Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed pot over medium high heat. When oil is hot, add pork chops and sear on both sides, being careful not to burn the seasoning. Remove and reserve the pork chops. Add the onions, bell peppers, and garlic to the pan, stirring and scraping the bottom. Cook for 4-5 minutes, until vegetables are browned. Add the diced tomatoes and scrape up any browned pieces from the bottom of the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring often. Add the rest of the Creole Seasoning, the basil, stock and tomato sauce. Mix well and bring to a boil. Add the pork chops back to the pot, reduce heat to a simmer, cover and cook for 30 minutes. Remove cover and cook another 10 minutes. Serve pork chops with sauce over rice or pasta.
